Mummy

Today I played with my brother with shaving cream and my brother accidentally PUSHED it and we were just having fun just squishing it around and then we told mommy and she said that it was ok if we played with it so we rubbed it ALLL around our tummies, so that was really fun.

At school, you cannot walk around to tell the teacher you want something. You need to raise your hand when you are in your seat -- you can't just walk to the teacher since the classroom is WAAAAAAY too small. My teacher is not at all like Farm School. And we never do any work -- we only "work" on writing big -- it is waaaaaaaaaaaay too easy.

And I met three people that are really nice. Their name is Sky, Lily and someone whose name I forget. And since there were lots and lots of bushfires, we needed to wear red to school and bring gold coins which are dollar coins. And I like after care a lot. And we play with hamma beads at daycare. And there was one time where my mom wrote a note to me since it was the first day, and it says: "I love you! Mommy" and my friend Sky said MOMMY (she said it MOAMMY), What is that?

Dearest Ripley, I was so happy to see your new blog! The shaving cream makes you look like you are wearing a white shirt. I bet it was fun to squish it around!
It sounds like you are getting used to new rules in school. Is your classroom smaller than the Little Kids' room at Farm School?
I am glad that you are making new friends. Grandpa made a "Ripley" out of wood for Farm School and the kids are going to make sure that you have a pony tail!
You said that you played with Hamma beads at after-care? I don't know what they are. Could you please let me know?
Taz is just fine. We have had a lot of rain here but he doesn't seem to mind geting wet. The other day, I took him in the car when I went to the Post Office and he liked sitting there and watching all the people. I know that he misses sleeping on your bed!
Lots of hugs and xx, Grandma

Hamma beads are little beads that you put them on a not-that-pointy, but some sticks, then you iron them so they are all still, and you can make hearts and people and cats and stars.

And the classroom is a tiny bit smaller, but not much.

Dearest Ripley, Thanks for telling me about Hamma beads. I never saw them before. Are they just in Australia? It was so good to talk to you tonight. How did your witch shirt come out? Make sure to take a picture of it so Grandpa and I can see it! xx, Grandma

Hi Ripley,
You look so funny with the shaving cream all over you! Today, it is Presidents' Day, so Ben and Emma are out of school. Unfortunately, they had to go the dentist and now Emma's mouth is all numb from having some cavities filled. She has two more doctor's appointments today! I bet she wishes that she were your age again so she could just have fun! Have you met more nice children at school? What about in your neighborhood? We have new neighbors--they are your age, so maybe when you come to visit, they will want to play! We miss you and love you! XXXXOOOO

Dear Ripley,
The shaving cream sounds fun. In after school care Enzo and Thomas did this science experiment with soda and mentos and what happens with it - its like rain, it flies up and it hits you in the head and its fun. You should try it sometime. And that's it that's all I want to say.

Dear Ripley - I love you. Right now I am crushing a juice box. - Derek

Dear Ripley - I thought that was pretty funny - when you rubbed shaving cream all over yourself. I might steal my dad's shaving cream. Good idea! - Elsa

Hello My Dear Ripley, I miss you so much. I am sorry to hear about school, it will definitely take some getting used to. I am sure you miss Farm School.

It was terrible to see the fires you were all experiencing. I saw on the news, a fireman giving a poor koala a drink of water from a bottle. It was very sweet but horribly sad. :(

I will have Enzo write to you next time. Until then take good care of your Mommy, Daddy and Casey.

Love you,
Ivy

Hi Ripley,

Aren't you too young to shave? I got a peek at the wooden Ripley. Some of the Big Kids painted a beautiful purple shirt on the wooden version of you. There is a big heart in the middle of it. Once it is finished, we'll take a picture and send it to you.

When I went to school we had to raise our hands to get the teacher's attention too. Only, we had to raise one finger if we needed a drink of water and two fingers if we needed to go to the bathroom (what do they call the bathroom in Australia?). It seems very funny now. We sat in long rows so sometimes you couldn't see what was on the board. Our classrooms were HUGE though!!!!

Miss you lots.

Dana

Dear Ripley,

I am so glad that you are making friends. I'm not surprised though, because you are a good friend for other kids to have.

I like the feel of shaving foam, too. It is very nice and squishy.

It is very good that you are figuring out the school rules. I wonder if the rules at Farm School seem very strange for kids who have gone to other schools.

Love,
Nancy
